Akagera National Park Trip Kigali

Description

This is a one-day trip to Akagera National Park, a savannah park in Rwanda with several wildlife animals and most liked animals known as “Big Five” like a lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and African buffalo. This scenic park is good for birders as it hosts numerous bird species in the woodland, swamps, lakes and savannah area. In the southern part of the park, vast Lake Ihema is home to hippos and crocodiles.

Akagera National Park is located in Eastern Province of Rwanda on the border with Tanzania. It is 2 1⁄2 hour drive and 108.1km away from Kigali.

         THE TRIP AGENDA

         This trip shall take place on 15th  August 2020

         Departure Time: 5 AM 

  • Early in the morning(5 am), we shall get off from Kigali to Akagera National Park for a wildlife safari. The visit will take 5-6 hours and it can be done while taking pictures. The car shall pick up the tourists from different locations namely, ICT Innovation Center Building (in the parking) and Remera Bus station
  • After visiting the park, we shall get off to late lunch(2 pm) outside the park in Kayonza Town.
  • After late lunch, we shall share our comments and views regarding the tour and take a group picture (till 4 pm) 
  • Later on, we shall go back to Kigali whereby the bus shall drop tourists from the same locations (ICT Innovation Center and Remera Bus Station or to any other location provided it is in the way to the mentioned locations. The expected arrival time is 6 pm

In order to cope up with COVID-19 Pandemic, we recommend everyone to come with face masks. Hand-sanitizer will be available. Again, everyone will have to test COVID-19 Negative 2 days prior to the visiting day. If in need of help regarding being tested, reach out to us for help.

1. During this trip, one should carry his/her travel documents like the National Identity card or Passport. 2. In order to cope up with COVID-19 Pandemic, we recommend everyone to come with face masks. Hand-sanitizer will be available. 3. Everyone must be COVID-19 Negative 2 days prior to the visit day. If in need of help about this, reach out to us. 4. As you are carrying out the game drives, one should remain in the vehicle unless the park guides see that it’s safe for you to get out taking a look. Permits must be booked and paid at least two days before the visit day to ease management.
